The View From Above: Thoughts to Help With Everyday Life

A Grateful Heart
The very best disposition for you to express and have buried deep within your heart is thanksgiving and gratitude.
I was reminded today of the worship song, “Give Thanks.”
I’ll be singing that song to myself all day because of how grateful I am for so much.
So much that God has done.
So much about life.
Past experiences.
Current blessings.
And the future that God has ordained and planned for all of us.
We can so easily descend into complaining, negativity, doubt, fear, and unbelief.
When you give your thoughts and your mind to such things, there is no room for gratitude to find a place of expression.
It’s one or the other.
Today, do a clean sweep of everything in your mind that does not reflect gratitude, faith, hope, and love.
You will be so much better off.
Gratitude is connected with joy and peace of mind.
Just be grateful and express what you are thankful for, and you’ll be in possession of a much brighter disposition.
Scripture Focus
Psalm 100:4-5
“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.”
Today, being Sunday, as we gather together, let’s do so with the attitude David describes.
That is what I’ll be thinking about today as we sing, praise, and worship our God!
Today’s Challenge
Take inventory of your thoughts today.
Sweep away every trace of complaining, negativity, doubt, fear, and unbelief.
Replace them with gratitude, faith, hope, and love.
As you worship the Lord today, enter His presence with thanksgiving and praise, remembering His goodness, His everlasting mercy, and His faithfulness to every generation.
A grateful heart will fill your day with greater joy, deeper peace, and a renewed appreciation for all that God has done—and all that He has yet to do.
