God, I Need You to Speak to Me
“God, I need You to speak to me.”
That is one powerful prayer that you should often pray, and you know what?
When you ask and solicit His voice…
HE DOES SPEAK!
One way or another, He will find a way to communicate to you when you need to hear from Him.
Sometimes we are so very desperate. Unless we hear a word from God, we are lost and we don’t know what to do.
You may be in the middle of a crisis and you’re confused. You’ve been thrown off your feet, and you feel very vulnerable and unstable.
As simple as this premise is, I think it’s one that many miss, and we don’t, as often as we should, ask God to speak to us.
Scripture Focus
Psalm 143:8
“Let me hear in the morning of Your steadfast love, for in You I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to You I lift up my soul.”
That’s the language of someone who knows God can speak to him, and he desires it.
Sometimes it’s our prayer. We need God to speak to us.
Other times, God wants to say something, and He needs to get our attention.
Such was the case with young Samuel:
1 Samuel 3:10
“Now the LORD came and stood and called as at other times, ‘Samuel! Samuel!’ And Samuel answered, ‘Speak, for Your servant hears.’”
Can God get your attention so He can say to you what He wants to?
Or are you too busy, too distracted, with too many moving parts going on in your life that have all of your attention?
Jesus said:
John 10:27
“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”
And with that voice, He wants to talk to you, speak to you, and provide you with the guidance, direction, and encouragement that you need.
It’s going to be up to you to put yourself in a position to hear from God.
You have to want it and desire it.
You need to be faithful to be in church because the primary way that God will speak to you will be through a God-inspired message that becomes a timely word in due season for you.
Of course, His voice can come through loud and clear through His Word as you read the Bible.
When you pray, take time to pause often enough for God’s voice to break through.
Then you need to be ready at any time.
You could be driving your car.
You’re at work or school.
You’re busy with other things.
And then…
God speaks!
Be ready.
Today’s Challenge
Let this be your prayer today:
“God, I need YOU to SPEAK to me…TODAY! SO THAT I KNOW WHAT TO DO.”
