IS THERE REALLY SUCH A THING AS THE PERFECT WILL OF GOD? IN A WORD, YES! — Part 11b
A full, complete, total devotion and dedication is the only reasonable response of a person who has benefited from the sacrifice, death, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior.
Romans 12:1
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.”
That is what our reasonable service is in light of the above verse.
Our “reasonable service”…it is the only rational, intelligent, and logical way to serve God.
Jesus gave His all; He gave and sacrificed everything for us, and we are going to live a half-hearted, lukewarm existence for Him?
Hardly.
That just doesn’t make any sense.
We benefit so much, and now we have heaven in our future, when previously hell was our eternal destination.
We don’t deserve what Jesus did for us; we did nothing to merit His great sacrifice, and we are all unworthy, yet He treats us as honored sons and daughters.
His love for us is incalculable; it can’t be measured, and it knows no limits.
John 3:16 (AMP)
“For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
It would be completely irrational to respond to the benefits of our salvation with anything less than giving it our all, putting Jesus first in all things, and living a life of committed obedience no matter the cost.
That is what is reasonable.
Are you offering Him what is your “reasonable service”?
Perhaps that needs to be examined today.
Put to the test the quality of your commitment to Jesus, the level of obedience and faithfulness you are contending for, and consider whether there is any compromise you have allowed.
Justifying sin, accommodating disobedience, living a half-hearted life in your relationship with Jesus is simply unreasonable and irrational.
Why don’t you make an altar today?
You’ll have the opportunity, and dedicate and re-dedicate yourself to what is your “reasonable service.”
