The View From Above: Thoughts to Help With Everyday Life

Jesus Christ Changes Lives

Jesus Christ changes lives.

He always has, and He always will.

This is our hope moving forward.

We are not what we used to be, and we are not yet what we shall be. But thank God, we are all in the process of being made into the image of Jesus Christ.

Scripture Focus

2 Corinthians 3:18

“And we all, with unveiled face, continually seeing as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are progressively being transformed into His image from one degree of glory to even more glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”

We should take time to acknowledge the areas of our lives where we need to change.

We know what they are.

Change is proactive.

At least some of the deeper changes in our lives only happen when we choose them, repent, and contend for them.

Some change happens passively as well.

As we serve God over time, transformation often takes place without us even realizing it. Then one day it dawns on us:

“I’m different. I don’t do those things anymore.”

Whether change comes through intentional effort or through the quiet work of God’s Spirit over time, it remains a miracle.

God takes the initiative to form His image within us.

2 Corinthians 5:17

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

No matter where you find yourself today, no matter what circumstances surround you, and regardless of the mistakes you may have made, never forget this truth:

Jesus Christ changes lives.

If your heart is right before God and you are contending for His will, change and transformation should always be taking place.

The Christian life is not a static experience. It is a continual journey of becoming more like Jesus.

Today’s Challenge

Take time today to reflect on the areas where God is working in your life.

What changes is He calling you to make?

What victories has He already accomplished in you?

Thank Him for the transformation that has already taken place, and trust Him for the changes that are still ahead.

Remember: Jesus Christ changes lives, and He is still changing yours.
