Look Up—Your Redemption Draws Near
We are living in a very troubled world—but that is actually good news!
Jesus said there would be trouble, and lots of it, in the run-up to His coming.
Look around. Pay attention to what is happening. Political turmoil, violence, wars and rumors of wars, economic instability, the breakdown of the family—we could go on and on.
Consider what Jesus said:
Scripture Focus
Luke 21:25-28
“And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”
It is time to look up.
We all have pressures, responsibilities, and demands on our time that require our attention. But let us never forget that this life is not all there is.
There is another world coming—an eternal kingdom that we are all headed toward.
This life is preparation for that one.
Be diligent to obey God. Keep your heart right in your relationships. Make no room for unforgiveness. Pursue every spiritual blessing and contend for holiness in your life.
Most importantly, tell others about Jesus.
In a world filled with uncertainty and fear, He remains the answer.
Today’s Challenge
Lift your eyes above the troubles of this world and focus on the hope that is found in Christ.
Live with eternity in view. Keep your heart right before God, walk in holiness, and take every opportunity to tell others about Jesus.
The world may be troubled, but that only means our redemption is drawing nearer.
