The View From Above: Thoughts to Help With Everyday Life

Show Me. Teach Me. Lead Me.
SHOW. TEACH. LEAD.
These are three things we should continually ask God to do in our lives.
None of us can successfully navigate life on our own.
Life is too complex.
There are too many twists and turns, too many unknowns, and too many uncertainties.
We need God’s guidance.
We need His help.
We need His direction.
Imagine being dropped into a city you’ve never visited and being told to find a particular destination.
You wouldn’t simply get into a car, start driving, and hope you eventually arrived.
You would seek help.
You would ask someone for directions or use a GPS.
Either way, you would rely on guidance from outside yourself.
Life is no different.
Why do we sometimes think we can simply start moving through life, hoping we’ll somehow arrive where God wants us to be?
The truth is, we need His direction every step of the way.
Scripture Focus
Psalm 25:4–5
“Show me Your ways, O LORD; teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day.”
Show. Teach. Lead.
Three simple words that describe what God desires to do for every one of His children.
The Bible is God’s book of guidance.
Prayer places us in a position to receive His direction.
Faithful preaching of God’s Word and wise counsel from mature believers are also ways God helps us find the right path.
Perhaps today you need direction in some area of your life.
Maybe you’ve reached a place where you simply don’t know what to do next.
Remember this:
God’s guidance is available—but it must be sought.
Ask Him.
Seek His wisdom.
Trust Him to direct your steps.
Scripture Focus
Psalm 119:105
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
Scripture Focus
Psalm 32:8
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you…”
God has never intended for you to walk through life alone.
He delights in showing you the way, teaching you His truth, and faithfully leading you one step at a time.
Today’s Challenge
Take a few quiet moments today to pray the words of Psalm 25 personally.
Ask God to show you His way, teach you His paths, and lead you in His truth.
Then open His Word with an expectant heart and remain sensitive to His direction throughout the day.
The God who calls you is also faithful to guide every step you take.
