The Great Love of God

I was very moved today!

Why?

Because God spoke to me in prayer about the great love with which He loves me—and all of us.

It is an incomprehensible, boundless, and immeasurable love.

Scripture Focus

1 John 4:16

"And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him."

His love for us knows no limits and has no boundaries.

His love for us survives our own foolishness, sin, and backsliding.

It survives our wayward decisions when we're not thinking rightly.

It survives our moments of disobedience and pride.

That doesn't mean we take advantage of God's love for us and purposefully sin, thinking, "Well, God loves me anyway, no matter what."

God's love flourishes best when we are repentant and express godly sorrow for what we do that is wrong.

My desire and goal is to be as thoroughly right with God as I can be.

I know that's a high bar, but we can all strive for that in our lives.

What that requires is daily repentance, daily cleansing, and a daily renewing of righteousness.

So today, consider God's love for you and rest assured that His love doesn't fade or diminish.

His love is faithful and consistent.

His love endures when we are in the depths of struggle.

I derive daily strength knowing that God loves me.

And so too does He love you.

Scripture Focus

1 Peter 5:6-7 (AMP)

"Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God [set aside self-righteous pride], so that He may exalt you [to a place of honor in His service] at the appropriate time, casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you (loves you) [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully]."

Today's Challenge

Spend time today meditating on the greatness of God's love for you.

Respond to that love with humility, repentance, and a renewed desire to walk closely with Him.

Cast every care upon the Lord, knowing that He loves you with the deepest affection and watches over you with perfect faithfulness.

May your heart be refreshed today by the unchanging love of God, and may that assurance strengthen you to live each day in faithful obedience to Him.
