There Is More — Part 2

There is more, so much more for us to experience as a result of our life in Christ. (Part 2)

We don’t want to live with our head in the clouds, detached from our calling and responsibilities in this life…however, the Bible does give us a description of what is to come for all of us in heaven…and that is worth our consideration.

It should be real enough so that we are unwilling to jeopardize our heavenly mansion for any sin or earthly passion.

Jesus Christ has given us power over sin so that when we stand before God, we can be deemed worthy of heaven. Not because of our own goodness and righteousness but because of His precious blood that has washed our sins away.

So, let’s venture forward and refresh what awaits us.

Scripture Focus

John 14:2–3

“In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”

Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people. Jesus is building and making ready for our arrival in heaven.

Consider the lengths that God has gone to in order to, one day, receive us into our eternal home. We look forward to that great day…but so too does He!

Psalm 116:15 (AMP)

“Precious [and of great consequence] in the sight of the LORD Is the death of His godly ones [so He watches over them].”

It is in God’s best interest that we make heaven our home…He anticipates our arrival. His love for us is fulfilled upon our arrival, and then the best is yet to come.

However that comes about, it is a glorious moment that opens the door to our eternal inheritance.

Between the moment of our passing from this life and our entry into heaven, a miracle occurs. We were transformed on the day of our Salvation…but another transformation awaits us all.

Though saved, we can’t go to heaven as we are, with this aging and deteriorating physical body…a miracle must occur.

1 Corinthians 15:50–55

“Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed—in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?”

That experience is in our future, all of our futures…don’t jeopardize it with foolishness, sinful living, disobedience, and rebellion. Why would you, how could you? So don’t!

One of the great joys of life is the anticipation of what is to come, and that is worth meditating on from time to time in the midst of the busyness of life and in the face of the challenges we all have to deal with and overcome.
