I AM THANKFUL TODAY FOR WHAT GOD DID YESTERDAY

Why do I say that?

Because I can review the events of yesterday and see the hand of God in my life.

First thing yesterday morning…Jesus visited me, encouraged me, strengthened me, and made Himself real to me all over again!

That’s how the events of yesterday started…and that is how most every day starts.

I always take time to thank God for what He did in my immediate past.

It is real to me.

Then, because it was the Lord’s Day…lots of good things happened.

Time in church hearing God’s Word (Evangelist John Robinson preached), enjoying time at the altar that I very much needed, and watching people being encouraged and helped.

It’s incalculable all that God does in a single day on behalf of His church.

What we do know is that God is busy…He is aware, He knows just where we need help, and how He needs to go about helping us.

We can easily take it for granted…just how good God is to us on a daily basis.

I think it’s a healthy exercise to take time, early in the morning, in prayer to review the goodness of God that occurred in our yesterdays.

My yesterdays are filled with Jesus, they are filled with God’s good work in my life.

Never a day passes without an encounter of some kind that advances the will of God in my life.

I have so many opportunities for obedience, to love and serve God…to bless others.

Every day is the adventure of the unfolding work of God in each of our lives.

Don’t look at today as just another day…it isn’t, it can’t be, and it won’t be.

Don’t look at yesterday as just another day gone by.

We can make every day valuable, profitable, and beneficial because Jesus is at the center of every day.

Our relationship with Jesus Christ is a daily relationship…it is daily experiencing Him, walking hand in hand with Him hour by hour.

How then can we not expect the reality of Jesus’ presence in our lives to be realized in all of our yesterdays and todays?

So, begin today with gratitude…gratitude for yesterday, and with thankful anticipation for the testimony of Jesus Christ that will be realized today.

Psalms 28:7 NLT

“The Lord is my strength and shield.

I trust him with all my heart.

He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy.

I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.”

1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 ESV

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

That’s what I’m doing today and will be doing every day.
