WHOSE REPORT WILL YOU BELIEVE?
My wife reminded me of a song we used to sing. It’s from the book of Isaiah:
Isaiah 53:1
“Who has believed our report?” And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?”
Some of the words to the worship song, “Whose Report Will You Believe?”
God brings good and great news…are you going to believe that?
Or the bad news that comes from this world.
The above Scripture refers to God’s revealed truth, promises, and the gospel message found in the Bible, specifically regarding redemption, healing, and salvation through Jesus Christ.
There is a lot of noise going on around us…a lot of voices vying for our attention, and they are not all good.
Bad news, words that try to discourage us, words that sow seeds of fear and confusion…lots of noise.
God has a report to present to us…that is what we need to be listening for.
The above Scripture is the beginning of Isaiah 53…the great chapter prophesying the coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ.
That’s the report Isaiah is wanting his audience to be listening to.
Stop listening to the devil’s report…it’s never good.
His report says it’s hopeless, you’re a loser, you’re going to fail, you will never prosper and succeed, and on and on it goes.
So, whose report will you believe?
I’m believing the report of the Lord!
That report is the GOOD NEWS that Jesus came to proclaim:
Luke 8:1
“After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God…”
That good news is what we should be listening to, and you can read it in the four Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
Take some time today and read some of that good news.
