In this month when the holiday and celebration of Thanksgiving occurs, I have a lot…so much to be thankful for. Over the next few days, I’ll get to some of them, but today, my gratitude has to begin with Jesus.
I can’t say that my adventure with Christ began on the day of my conversion; it goes far deeper than that.
[Jeremiah 1:4-5]
“Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying: “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
My destiny was determined by God before I was born. That fact alone, and that is true for all of us, doesn’t guarantee it is going to come to pass. I stepped into the stream of divine destiny for my life on the day of my conversion and the surrendering of my life since that great and glorious day. The day I was born again and forgiven of my sins. I began my march toward God’s perfect will for my life and ultimately making heaven my home.
God loves me and you, with an incomprehensible, boundless, and immeasurable love that knows no limits. I and you have been recipients of that love. How can we not be so very thankful and grateful? The cross that Jesus endured, the blood that He shed that I might be reconciled to Him. I try, but I really don’t have words to express the depth of gratitude that I feel in light of all that God has done.
So, not just this month of Thanksgiving…but today and every day, I offer God the sacrifice of thanksgiving…I can’t imagine a day going by that I don’t think and say; ‘Thank you, Jesus…for who You are and for all You have done.’
So take a moment, that’s all it takes to express thanksgiving and gratitude. Please join me saying thank you, thank you, thank you, Jesus!
[Psalms 107:1-2]
“Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Let the redeemed of the LORD say so…”
I, for one, am saying so today.
[Psalms 100:4-5]
“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations.”
There is so much more to thank God for than there ever will be complaining about. Stop complaining, STOP! And start offering God the gratitude that He is worthy of.
