When Life Becomes Complicated
Life can be complicated, complex, and confusing.
It becomes much less so when we pray and seek God’s wisdom through His Word for our situation.
God has provided us with spiritual assets that help simplify life.
I’ve been confused and uncertain before, not knowing what to do. That uncertainty creates stress and anxiety and can make life very unpleasant.
Yet there has never been a time when I have taken my cares to the Lord that I did not discover what I needed to do to resolve my own problems—or what I needed to say when counseling someone else who was facing difficulties.
Jesus calms the storm.
He settles the turmoil that can come upon us all too easily and all too regularly.
There is always an answer for every complex problem and every difficult dilemma.
The key is that wisdom must be sought.
Scripture Focus
Proverbs 4:7
“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.”
If we lack wisdom, it can be acquired.
It is available.
James 1:5
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”
All we have to do is ask.
One of the most important principles for navigating and processing life is found in the following passage:
1 Peter 5:6-7
“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God [set aside self-righteous pride], so that He may exalt you [to a place of honor in His service] at the appropriate time, casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully].”
There are cares that we simply cannot handle.
But God can.
And He will.
When we humble ourselves before Him and place our concerns in His hands, we discover that He is more than capable of carrying what we cannot.
Today’s Challenge
Do not allow life’s complexity to overwhelm you today.
Take your cares, concerns, anxieties, and questions to the Lord.
Ask Him for wisdom.
Trust Him to provide understanding and direction.
Have confidence that God can intervene on your behalf and give you exactly the help that you need.
