When Your Steps Begin to Slip

Most of us, along the pathway of life, end up stumbling, tripping, sometimes losing our way, and occasionally falling flat on our face.

That’s reality, isn’t it?

We’ve all found ourselves looking up from the ground, wondering, “What just happened?”

Thankfully, God has provided an antidote.

Many people live with fear and insecurity. We don’t always feel confident about the direction we’re headed or the steps we’re taking.

This verse stood out to me during my Bible reading this morning:

Scripture Focus

Psalm 17:5

“Uphold my steps in Your paths, that my footsteps may not slip.”

Our steps belong in His paths.

When we walk where God leads, slipping and falling are greatly minimized because He is directing our way.

Psalm 37:23-24 (AMP)

“The steps of a good and righteous man are directed and established by the Lord, and He delights in his way and blesses his path. When he falls, he will not be hurled down, because the Lord is the One who holds his hand and sustains him.”

What a wonderful promise.

God walks alongside us.

Even when we stumble, it is not the end of the story.

He upholds us.

He steadies us.

He takes us by the hand, lifts us up, and keeps us moving in the right direction.

Our failures do not have to define us when we continue walking with Him.

As we remain on His path, we can move forward with confidence, knowing that His hand is always there to sustain us.

Today’s Challenge

Take time today to consider the direction of your life.

Are your steps following God’s path?

If you have stumbled, don’t remain discouraged.

Allow the Lord to strengthen you, uphold you, and lead you forward.

Walk confidently, knowing that the One who directs your steps is also the One who holds your hand.
