There Is More — Part 5: The Endless Wonder of Heaven

There is more—so much more—for us to experience as a result of our life in Christ.

What will the experience of heaven actually be like?

We know about the streets of gold and many of the descriptions Scripture gives us, but what will it truly be like to be there? What will we experience throughout eternity?

Let’s consider one final thought.

The anticipation of the unknown.

The glory of heaven, our knowledge of God, and our experience with Him will continue unfolding throughout eternity.

Growth will never cease.

Revelation will never end.

Scripture Focus

1 Corinthians 2:9

“But as it is written: ‘Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.’”

That promise has an earthly application, but it also points us toward heaven.

We cannot begin to comprehend all that awaits us when we enter the portals of glory.

Many people live with fear and uncertainty about the future.

Look at what happened during COVID.

People feared they would die.

They feared for their children.

They feared financial loss and an uncertain tomorrow.

In heaven, those fears will never exist again.

You will never anticipate anything bad happening.

There will be no fear.

No foreboding.

No anxiety about what lies ahead.

Instead, there will be joyful anticipation of what comes next, knowing it will always be glorious.

The glory of God and the wonders of heaven will continue unfolding in ever-increasing measures of blessing.

Words truly fall short in describing what heaven will be like.

I’ve tried because it is worth meditating on.

It is worth exploring.

We have so much to look forward to.

So much that Jesus has prepared—and is still preparing—for His people.

Let that reality motivate you to love Him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.

Scripture Focus

Mark 12:29-30

”…You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.”

How good is God?

So good that He has prepared for you an eternity filled with His glory, His presence, and blessings beyond anything we can presently imagine.

Today’s Challenge

Spend time today thanking God not only for what He has done in your life, but also for what He has promised yet to come.

Allow the certainty of heaven to replace fear with hope and uncertainty with joyful anticipation.

Love Christ wholeheartedly, live faithfully, and keep your eyes fixed on the eternal future He has prepared for all who belong to Him.
